クリトリスを養子に!Adopt a Clitoris!
Perhaps "Adopt a Clitoris" is shocking for you. But what could be more shocking than the mutilation that these women have experienced?
It's with great hope and enthusiasm that the women of Africa continue to support the "adopt a clitoris" campaign. We hope that this campaign (which some may consider shocking) brings this abhorrent reality to the public's attention so that it may finally stop.
With over $100,000 donated already, it seems to be working.
So how did it start?
Following a statement made by Dr. Foldes on the barbaric nature of clitoral excision or female genital mutilation (FGM), Rael, spiritual leader of the Raelian Movement, decided to help as many women as possible regain their sense of pleasure by founding Clitoraid, a private non-profit organization whose goal is to sponsor any African woman who wants to have her clitoris rebuilt. An OBGYN in France, Dr. Foldes stated that, women and children who have suffered the atrocities of clitoral excision, which he likened to male castration in its barbarity, can now benefit from medical advances and scientific progress in order to regain sexual pleasure and be whole once again.
In view of the fact that a large number of Burkinabe women are now candidates for the surgery and with Clitoraid’s offers by a few doctors to travel to Bobo Dioulasso and help rebuild the clitoris of these circumcised women, the Maitreya Rael stated: “Instead of using Clitoraid’s collected money to operate on just a few women, we should create the first Raelian Hospital, the “Pleasure Hospital”, and operate on all African women, for free, with the help of Raelian or non-Raelian volunteer doctors.”
The facility is scheduled to be built in Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso. It will be composed mainly of one operating room and two additional rooms. The projected cost to build the facility and supply it with medical equipment is $70,000. We will keep you posted on the construction plans in the Hospital section.
It is a crime against humanity that today, in this so called enlightened 21st century, women in under-developed countries are still forcefully subjected to participate in sex trades, are denied common freedoms as we know and enjoy in the west, and in certain cultures, are slaves to barbaric practices such as clitoral mutilation in the name of religion and male dominance. We can all help. We can support our sisters, and Adopt a Clitoris!
